We have another British Driver World Champion!

After another season of thrills, spills and a whole host of super Cycklekart manoeuvres - Mark Underdown was crowned the 2023 CKWC Drivers Champion with 53.5 points!!! just pipping the legendary Steve Vinson to the top spot by half a point. Not content with just that, he achieved the highest speed recorded on the Corona challenge this year as well at over 53mph - Hats off to that man!

For those who are not aware - The World Championship table is run every year by Carlos Carneiro in the U.S.A. It is a light hearted tally of a number of events attended through the season and from each event points are awarded and submitted across the pond. It is a great way to unite the Cyclekarting community on a global scale and literally anyone can win.

“I was really looking forward to the 2023 Season after not being able to drive that much in 2022 and really hadn’t thought about the World Champoinship until it popped up half way through the year on Facebook and I was at the top!! After then it kind of grabbed a hold of me a little and I must admit I was rather sucked into to all and really drove my kart hard - I think I have gone through 4 sets of rear tyres this season alone so I was pretty committed!! After an unforntunate incident earlier in the season (no names, previous WC in a blue CK!!!) I had to retire which meant I had no options but to try and put a good time in the Corona Challenge which was slighty sketchy to say the least.

Thanks for all the Support, encouragement from my fellow CKGB Cyclekarters - I think next season you will see me driving around a little more leisurely and not like I just stole it at every event!!!! Ha ha

Can’t wait for the 2024 Season - But remember kids it’s just a bit of fun!!”

Yeah right!! Mark
