Cyclekarting in Great Britain
As Cyclekarting in Great Britain is still in its infancy, we meet at venues and tracks that have come to love what we’re all about. Below are some we attend throughout the season.
Lundy Flyers Motor Club - Golden Mile Beach Race
-
Saunton Sands Beach, Saunton Rd, Braunton, North Devon, EX33 1LQ
-
A weekend of Pre 65 Hotrods, Bikes, Aero-engined cars and Specials and of course Cyclekarts!!. Two days of 1/8th mile paired vehicle exhibition sprints with flagged starts and lots of noise, as well as slow & low circuit cruising. All taking place on Saunton’s glorious golden sand.
-
1/8th Mile of Golden Hard Sand. It can get pretty bumpy in places and knobbly tyres are optional!!
-
This event is a good mile along the beach. For those who are not that mobile it is not very suitable. There are basic facilities at the event but it is advised to be well prepared. The Toilets are way back at the beach car park.

Haynes Motor Museum Kart Track
-
Haynes Motor Museum, Sparkford, Yeovil BA22 7LH
-
Located next to the Haynes Motor Museum, this fast 370m kart track provides plenty to test out your Cyclekart and an opportunity to visit the great museum next door.
-
Good quality tarmac circuit. It should be noted this is a fast circuit and it can be quite hard on the CK’s and tight in places. There are not a great deal of places to pass other members.
-
Lots of parking and room, good facilities with a Cafe in the museum just a short walk.

Brooklands Museum
-
Brooklands Museum, Brooklands Drive, Weybridge, Surrey, KT13 0SL
-
Display and exhibition drive on the historic start/finish straight and an attempt up the famous Test Hill (weather permitting) as part of the annual celebration of the opening of Brooklands as a race circuit in 1907.
The Brooklands Relived event that has happened in previous years is being incorporated into the Sunday of the Double-Twelve weekend and celebrates the heydays of Brooklands as a race circuit, with cars, motorbikes, fashion and music. Cyclekarts have been a firm favourite with the crowds at this event. Plus, of course, a chance to look around the great exhibits in the museum.
-
Its the old track so very bumpy in places!!
-
Superb facilities, food, parking and general access for most is very good to all the areas.

-
450m Mill Circuit is a varied track with open run-off areas for some really fun driving which always puts a smile on your face!
-
The venue has plenty of space for parking. The facilities are excellent with an on-site diner-style restaurant with food available all day.

Sywell Classic - Piston & Props Show
-
SYWELL AERODROME, Hall Farm, Northamptonshire, Sywell, NN6 0BN
-
A weekend event displaying Cyclekarts and doing some driving demonstrations up the strip to a very large public. It's a big weekend show with loads of other classic vehicles on display. There is camping on site and plenty of catering outlets.
-
All the demonstrations are on the runway surface which gives lots of grip. The runs are in a drag race style against each other.
-
Good facilities over the weekend for all.
